Tracy Morse

An environmental health specialist, I work for the University of Strathclyde. Based in Malawi for 20 years, I have led and worked on collaborative research projects in Malawi and across the region focused on preventive community health with a particular emphasis on water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), food safety, air quality, maternal and reproductive health, and community development models. All of our work is based on the needs and priorities of the Government of Malawi and our partners, to ensure they help support the development of the country and attainment of the SDGs. I now Head the Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of Strathclyde, as well as continuing our collaborative research work in Malawi.

Our work has ranged from development programme implementation to research which informs national strategies. Recognised for its impact in 2015 by UK CDS, our outputs have been taken up for national roll out (training toolkits) and been embedded in national policy and strategy. We continue to work hand in hand with the Government of Malawi to ensure our work is meaningful, sustainable and impactful.
