Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Real people, real partnerships
Renew'N'Able Malawi is a project in which Scots and Malawians are working together to support sustainable energy access and resilience-enhancing, energy-efficient housing.
They have developed innovative earth-bag dome houses to provide a sturdy, affordable and quick-to-build shelter for Malawian families in flood-prone areas, eliminating the need to cut down trees for conventional brick burning.
They train local enterprises on environmentally and economically viable energy sources in the growing townships and rural communities.
Just one of the thousands of people-to-people partnerships between Scotland and Malawi, working across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
