Access to safe, clean and sustainable water supplies is essential for life.

Engagement between Scotland and Malawi in the water sector is well established and active. From large university-led research projects and INGOs, to grassroots community-owned initiatives, Scotland-Malawi links are contributing towards improved health and sanitation and infrastructure.

More recently the intervention of NGO's and Ministry efforts to improve the protection and management of water supplies has improved access. However, there is still a need to examine developing more integrated water management and water resource systems.

Working alongside local communities, government officials and researchers Scotland-Malawi links in the water sector are helping to deliver clean water and sanitation across Malawi.

Brewgooder

Brewgooder set off on a mission to make a great tasting craft lager to a unique recipe, sell the beer and invest 100% of their profits – every single penny – into clean water projects. This means that when you drink their beers you are providing someone who needs it with clean drinking water.

They're working with Scottish craft beer punks BrewDog to brew the lager and have created a unique and refreshing beer that they can't wait for you to try.

Profits from their crowdfund will be helping the Nora Doherty School in Dedza, Malawi, which is featured in the campaign video, to improve their access to clean water by installing solar powered water stations. This guarantees improved access to safe water in the dry season and reduce the time burden on women in the community.
