Toilet Twinning

Toilet Twinning

Toilet Twinning provides people in the poorest communities on the planet with a decent toilet, clean water and all the information they need to stay healthy. This vital combination prevents the spread of disease and in fact it's the key to helping whole communities break free from generational poverty. 2.4 billion people don’t have somewhere safe, private or hygienic to go to the toilet. That is over a third of the world’s population. In Malawi alone, 10 million people don't have access to proper sanitation. Since it began Toilet Twinning has twinned almost 70,000 toilets in more than 26 countries including Malawi. We are passionate about changing the world – toilet by toilet, family by family, community by community, nation by nation. Together, we are flushing away poverty.

Our approach focuses on enabling and equipping people in poverty to find their own solutions to the issues that keep them in poverty. Educating communities about sanitation - and setting the wheels in motion for locally-owned and locally-delivered water and sanitation programmes - is at the heart of all we do.
