Orbis Expeditions announces new trail challenge for 2020

29 November 2019

Endurance trail runner Susie Chan is looking for passionate runners to join her in The Orbis Trail Challenge in Malawi in October 2020. Following in Dame Kelly Holmes' footsteps, a team of 30 will join Susie on a seven day Sport with a Purpose expedition running the stunning rugged trails of Malawi.

Sport with a Purpose is Orbis' campaign – kicked off by Dame Kelly in October 2018 – aimed at raising awareness of key organisations working towards improving lives in Malawi.

The challenge will comprise three trail runs including a 25km (1,000 metre elevation) mountain run, a 25km forest trail run and a half marathon along the shores of Lake Malawi.

This 75km trail running event will raise awareness for reforestation in Malawi and between event days the team will be visiting local communities, taking part in village styles sports, a wildlife safari and a snorkelling trip out on Lake Malawi.
