Malawi-Scotland roots continue to grow...

After hosting Malawi's President H.E Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady Monica Chakwera in Edinburgh City Chambers for 'Malawi's COP26 Homecoming' on the 4th of November, we were delighted to accompany them to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.

There, the President and First Lady planted a Widdringtonia whytei, or Mlanje cedar, a species of conifer that is endemic to Mount Mulanje in Malawi. They were welcomed by Regius Keeper Simon Milne and colleagues at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh.
