Malawi waives entry visa fees to boost Tourism

09 February 2024

The Government of Malawi on Wednesday announced that, with immediate effect, it was removing visa entry fees for allied countries, including the UK, in a bid to support Malawi tourism.

Malawi's Minister for Tourism, Hon. Vera Kamtukule, commented online: "Brace yourselves for a journey of boundless possibilities as we unveil a new chapter in Malawi's story of growth and prosperity. Imagine a world where borders dissolve, and dreams take flight on wings of opportunity.

In a bold leap towards a brighter tomorrow, we've gazetted the Immigration (Amendment) Regulations, 2024, granting visa waivers to 48 nations, including cherished allies like Germany, the USA, UK, Ghana, Maldives, and France, among others. This monumental decision isn't just about visas; it's about unleashing the untapped potential of our beloved Malawi and inviting the world to experience its wonders firsthand."
