The University of Strathclyde is collaborating with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences and Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences on a 4 year programme to address adolescent health and wellbeing in Malawi. This NIHR funded Global Health Research Group brings together experts from across all three institutions to understand the psychological, sociocultural, socioeconomic, educational, political and geographical contexts which influence adolescent health and wellbeing, and to explore how interventions and policies can best support adolescent health and wellbeing in the future. The project will particularly focus on sexual and reproductive health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and wellbeing, as well as the wider policy and economic environments.

A team of experts visited Scotland for their annual consortium meeting from 4th - 8th September, and as part of their visit we were delighted to have the opportunity to engage with students, academics, organisations and diaspora with an interest in Malawi, and particularly adolescent health and wellbeing.

Details of their work can be found here.

Video highlights of the event can be found here.
