Goal 14: Life Below Water
Real people, real partnerships
This Scottish Government funded Aquaculture Enterprise project is helping entrepreneurial fish farmers in southern Malawi to become standalone, financially viable aquaculture businesses.
It provides: loans for initial feed and fish; regular technical and small business support; visits during the production cycle; then market chain support, allowing them to sell their fish for profit.
Effective partnerships are key in this project: this approach is working well, with increasing numbers of individuals paying back their loans and making profits.
Just one of the thousands of people-to-people partnerships between Scotland and Malawi, working across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
