Following the success of ‘FemEng in Rwanda’ which took place 2016-2019, FemEng (Female Engineering Society at the University of Glasgow) are excited to launch a new international partnership with Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). The project is entirely student led and involves cross-cultural collaboration with our female engineering counterparts at MUST. We will work together to develop workshops to showcase different engineering applications to children in Malawi. These workshops may include activities such as bridge building, low cost medical diagnostics, computer programming demonstrations. During our time in Malawi, we will also take part in industry visits and work with the MUST students to promote women in engineering at their institution. The first ‘FemEng in Malawi’ project will take place for 3-4 weeks in June 2020.
