Mamie Martin Fund

The Mamie Martin Fund was established in 1993 to support the education of girls in secondary schools in Northern Malawi. Having started with a partnership with the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, we now also support girls at a Community Day Secondary School and in boarding schools run by the Diocese of Karonga.

In 2023-24 we are supporting 120 girls at secondary schools in Northern Malawi by paying their fees and associated expenses. 15 of those are deaf girls at Embangweni Secondary School for Deaf Children.
- Girls' education reduces the incidence of child marriage.
- Educated women have fewer children, making it less difficult for them to feed and educate those children.
- Educated women take part in the affairs of the community and country with confidence.
