Mamie Martin Fund

"To work with the girls has always been my passion and I do enjoy it. I will do what I can to see that we carry forward Mamie's dream and vision." Mercy Sibande, MMF's Malawi Manager. The Mamie Martin Fund was established in 1993 to support the education of girls in secondary schools in Northern Malawi. Having started with a partnership with the CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, we now also support girls at a Community Day Secondary School and in a boarding school run by the Diocese of Karonga. In addition we work with The Soko Fund, which provides at least five of our girls with scholarships to attend a Malawian university at any one time.

In 2019-2020 we will support 137 girls at secondary school in North Malawi by paying their fees and associated expenses. Over the past five years (2014 -19) 220 girls have been supported by us:

• 18 of those were supported through all four years of secondary school
• We supported 433 school years in that time
• Fees are paid to the organisation running the school or the school itself.
