Highland Hospice - Scottish Centre for Project ECHO

Highland Hospice has had links with Malawi in the past, including sharing practice through visiting colleagues in Malawi and having practitioners visit us in Scotland.

Through a mutual colleague, we are currently working in partnership with the education staff at the Department of Family Medicine at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences with the aim of enhancing palliative care and service delivery in rural contexts.

This is a new initiative but the main aims are to create an online community of practice with the BSc Palliative Care alumni. The benefits will be that staff and students can look at real cases and apply their academic learning to these scenarios in order to master the complexity of rural healthcare in their areas.
