GALVmed

Millions of people rely on livestock as source of livelihood. The loss of animals through disease devastates the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world. A not for profit public private partnership, GALVmed aims to make a significant contribution towards transformational change in the smallholder livestock health landscape by developing a portfolio of high impact products and initiating a range of private sector market initiatives operating at scale in the smallholder sector. Everything GALVmed achieves is done with and through partners. In Malawi, GALVmed helped empower the African Union Centre for Ticks and Tick--borne Diseases (AU-CTTBD) in Lilongwe to produce a vaccine against East Coast fever, a disease which kills over 1.1million cattle every year in sub-Saharan Africa. www.galvmed.org Registered Charity in Scotland: SC039197 Registered Charity in England and Wales: 1115606, Registered Name: Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicines.
