Chimwemwe Chisembe
I am currently pursuing my MSc. studies in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment at the University of Strathclyde. I am interested in being at the forefront of research in Malawi as far as generation of energy from renewable sources is concerned - be it off- or on-grid.
Therefore, among others, I'm interested in improving energy access to communities who are far from the grid electricity by exploring viable renewable energy source options in the areas concerned.
Considering that I am new to the partnership, I don't have any 'impact' I can attest to per se.
However, I was privileged to attend the Malawi Cross Party Group (CPG) in Edinburgh on the 29th of May. At this event, participants were discussing about the Chitetezo project which aims at reducing the high road traffic mortality rate in Malawi. It was wonderful to hear how progress is being made in this regard and I was captivated to be part of this partnership so that I can contribute to this cause and more.
