Support services for Scotland-Malawi links affected by Coronavirus

We recognise that a number of members have had to postpone upcoming visits to Malawi as a result of Coronavirus and the FCO's latest travel advice, and that this may present challenges both for Scotland-Malawi links and the Malawi travel and tourism sector.

Support services for Members not able to travel to Malawi

We recognise that a number of members have had to postpone upcoming visits to Malawi as a result of Coronavirus and the FCO’s latest travel advice, and that this may present challenges both for Scotland-Malawi links and the Malawi travel and tourism sector.

We’re therefore happy to promote the services of the Responsible Safari Company (RSC), who have developed a package of services specifically for Scottish organisations not able to travel to Malawi as planned due to Coronavirus.

They are able to offer hands-on in-country development consultancy service to check-up, support and report back on all local projects through their dedicated ground team. Their Blantyre-based team can also help with fund distribution, project reports, establishing direct communications systems, images, or general support for members’ linked projects or organisations.

RSC has over 12 years of sustainable development experience and excellent local knowledge and contacts. They are respected and trusted partners of the SMP, as part of our corporate partnership with their sister company Orbis Expeditions.

We have seen how helpful and responsive RSC have been for members in the past, including through more challenging times in Malawi’s recent history, so have no reservations in recommending their services to those not able to travel to Malawi this spring/summer.
