We're pleased to inform members that the Scottish Government have announced the results of their Small Grants Funding Round, with six of the twelve funded projects supporting work in Malawi!

The International Development Small Grants Programme is open to Scottish-based Non-Government Organisations, under which twelve projects across Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania are funded.

International Development Minister, Alasdair Allan said:

“For the last five years, our small grants have enabled Scottish agencies to make a significant impact and help some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

“I am delighted that, through these projects, we will continue to improve the lives of those facing hardship and poverty in Kenya and in all our partner countries, making a sustained difference.”

David Hope-Jones OBE, Chief Executive of the Scotland Malawi Partnership said:

"We are delighted to welcome this latest announcement regarding the Scottish Government's Small Grants Programme.

"We have seen first-hand the positive impact this innovative, distinctive and effective grant programme is having in Malawi. By working with and through smaller organisations, the Scottish Government is able to have remarkably high impact even with comparatively modest individual investments.

"These smaller, more agile grants are often able to reach those communities of greatest needed, building on the strengths of the 150-year old people-to-people friendship between Scotland and Malawi."
