With the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on the horizon, the Scotland Malawi Partnership (SMP) is excited to celebrate and support Team Malawi as athletes prepare to compete on the international stage.
As the Games draw closer, this page will serve as a central hub for updates on Malawi's participation, including confirmed fixtures, athlete news, opportunities to support the team and ways for SMP members to get involved.
Malawi is set to compete in several sports at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, showcasing the country's talent and determination on the world stage.
We will continue to update this page with confirmed schedules and results as they become available.
Netball Fixtures:
- 25 July 2026 – 19:00: Malawi vs South Africa
- 26 July 2026 – 14:00: Malawi vs Northern Ireland
- 27 July 2026 – 14:00: Malawi vs England
- 28 July 2026 – 19:00: Malawi vs Australia
- 30 July 2026 – 09:00: Malawi vs Tonga
The success of Team Malawi relies on the support of partners, sponsors and supporters both in Malawi and Scotland.
To date, the national netball team, the Malawi Queens whose party is expected to comprise approximately 20 players, coaches and officials invite Volunteers to:
- Meet the group at Glasgow airport and escort them by public transport to their hotel on 15th July (further details to be confirmed [TBC]).
- Host 3 adults to stay in their home 21st July - 3rd August. Offers of hosting fewer than 3 people/part of that duration also gratefully received.
- Drive 3 or 4 of the team from their accommodation in Glasgow to the Willowgate Centre near Perth on Thursday, 30th July at approx. 1pm and back at approx. 5pm. This is for an afternoon of Kayak fun and a shared meal.
- Come and support Malawi at the friendly games against Wales & Northern Ireland on 22nd & 23rd July (details TBC).
- Meet the team off a train or bus on 16th July in Manchester and escort them to their accommodation.
