Brewgooder: Scotland-Malawi Brewdog Craft Beer!

20 April 2016

Congratulations to Brewgooder, our newest SMP member, on breaking their £50,000 crowdsource target to create the world's first craft beer funding clean water projects.

Congratulations to Brewgooder, our newest SMP member, on breaking their £50,000 crowdsource target to create the world's first craft beer funding clean water projects.

Founders Alan and Josh visited Malawi recently to learn more about Scotland's historic ties with Malawi and see how their new social enterprise can transform lives.

100% of profits from the new beer, which is brewed at cost price by Brewdog, will go directly to funding clean water projects.

We expect the beer to be available on the shelves and in bars from June. Until then, members have just have two days to be amongst the first to try the beer by buying through the initial crowdsource campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/brewgooder-drinkbeergivewater#/ It closes on Friday 22nd April 2016.

All profits from the crowdsourcing will help the Nora Doherty School in Dedza, Malawi, to improve access to clean water by installing solar powered water stations. This guarantees improved access to safe water in the dry season and reduce the time burden on women in the community. The remaining profits will be going straight to clean water projects working with Oxfam, WaterAid and MercyCorps.

We are delighted to be supporting Brewgooder and look forward to seeing the beer on our shelves in the summer.
