BOND report: Catalysing locally-led development
12 July 2021
We are keen to share with members a new report recently published by BOND, the UK-wide development network, looking at catalysing locally-led development in the UK’s aid system.
The report has come out of discussions across a number of NGOs, including some SMP members, and presents some really useful perspectives and recommendations. We recommend members have a read and, if useful, we would be delighted to facilitate further discussion across the SMP membership.
It is an easy to read report that poses important questions for all involved in international development.
The SMP remains committed to working through dignified partnership and local-led development. We continue to hold ourselves, and all our members, accountable to the 11 Scotland-Malawi Partnership Principles that came from, first, listening to 200 Malawian organisations. As a network we are keen to work with members and partners to explore what more we can actively do to support locally-led initiatives and challenge structural inequalities.
The SMP is a member of BOND.
