Big support for Mission Rabies...

09 August 2022

We are delighted to share this guest post with you from Callum Mckay, who recently completed a sponsored walk from the west coast of Scotland to the east in ONE DAY(!!) in aid of SMP member Mission Rabies. Callum shares his story...

"I started the walk on the west coast near craigendoran train station, Helensburgh at 20 past 9 on Sunday 17th of July and finished it on the east coast near skinflats, Falkirk at 3 the next day nearly 18 hours later for a total distance of 52 miles. I have raised £595 for mission rabies so far.

I've been supporting mission rabies for a few years now and this is the 3rd sponsored walk I've undertaken in aid of them, having walked to my home in Coatbridge to ben Lomond and climbing it last year for the cause. The charity is very close to my heart as I have always been a dog person and loved having them, and our 3 rescue glagols that we have just now helped inspire me.

Having been involved with Malawi since 2012 since my dad took me there with the health lifestyle project, I've always tried to look for ways to help contribute towards important causes in the area, and with the help of my Dad I've been able to integrate this in with my hobby, long distance walking.

Hopefully in the future I will undertake bigger and better challenges and raise even more money for mission rabies and other worthwhile charities."

A huge congratulations to Callum from all the the SMP! If you would like to donate, you can do so here. Find out more about SMP member Mission Rabies here.
