Members engaged in business, trade, investment and tourism work with Malawi are invited to roundtable meeting with Mr Joshua Nthakomwa, Director of Investment and Facilitation, from the Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC) on Thursday, 8th November.

Mr Nthakomwa is across from Malawi to attend the Malawi trade networking event on the evening of the 5th November in London. This is run by the Malawi-UK Business Group, which the SMP is an active part of.

If you would like to attend this 5th November London reception and have not yet booked a place, please email David Hope Jones and we will send you details and book you in.

However, we realise that many of our members will not be able to travel to London at short notice so we are very pleased that MITC Mr Nthakomwa is able to travel up to Scotland to meet members.

The roundtable meeting will be a chance to listen to MITC priorities, for members to brief Mr Nthakomwa on their work and to discuss challenges and opportunities in UK-Malawi trade, investment and tourism. This should be a very constructive space for information sharing and collaboration, and we encourage all members working in these areas to join us.

We will also use the second half of the meeting to look specifically at the SMP’s own #BuyMalawian campaign which ran successfully in 2018 and 2017.

We are keen for feedback and discussion on how best to shape this work for maximum impact in future years and are keen to use the opportunity of having MITC with us to host this discussion and explore priorities and approach for 2019.

If you would like to attend the meeting, please book your place HERE.

If you would like to be a part of discussions but cannot attend in person, please email Grace O'Donovan. We appreciate this is short notice so will endeavour to have an easy access video or teleconference option on-hand.
