Malawi Cabinet Reshuffle

The President of Malawi has announced a major Cabinet reshuffle.

On the 7th April President Peter Mutharika announced a Cabinet reshuffle, making a number of notable changes:

- Hon Allan Chiyembekeza has been replaced by Hon George Chaponda as Minister of Agriculture

- Hon Jappie Mhango has been replaced by Hon Patricia Kaliati as Information Minister

- Hon Jappie Mhango is now Minister of Home Affairs

- Hon Jean Kalirani is now the Minister for Gender

- Hon George Chaponda replaced by Hon Francis Kasaila as Minister of Foreign Affairs

- Rev Maliseni Ndau replaced by Hon Agrrey Massi as Deputy Minister for Defence

- Rev Maliseni Ndau is now Cabinet Minister for Transport and Public Works

The SMP and MaSP are together writing to Hon Francis Kasaila to welcome him as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
