The FCO have announced that the British High Commissioner to Malawi, Mr Michael Nevin, will be leaving this post in September 2016, transferring to become the High Commissioner to the Republic of Iceland.

Michael Nevin has been a kind supporter of the Scotland Malawi Partnership as High Commissioner, always going to great lengths to warmly welcome Scottish visitors and help support the work of our members in Malawi. We are extremely grateful for this.

We look forward continuing to work closely with Mr Nevin in the coming months and welcoming his successor in Malawi to this post in September. As with previous High Commissioners, we will invite the new post-holder to meet with our members in Scotland before travel to Malawi and with MaSP members on arrival.

We have passed on the best regards and thanks of all our members to Michael Nevin as he prepares for the move in the coming months.

Michael Nevin
