Our sister organisation in Malawi, the Malawi Scotland Partnership (MaSP), continues to grow from strength to strength with an ever growing membership and an increasing number of events, meetings and training. The budget for this coming year is very tight for MaSP, meaning we’re looking for free or low cost venues to help host workshops, meetings, seminars and small training events.
UK-Malawi Tax Treaty: Make Tax Fair24 Feb 2016
The SMP is proud to be supporting the ActionAid campaign calling for the 1955 UK-Malawi tax treaty to be updated. While in Malawi earlier this month, David Hope-Jones met with the British High Commission to highlight this issue. We are pleased to be told that the UK Government is keen to update the treaty and, after sixty years, we encourage both governments to make a public commitment to this end.
