Scotland Street Coffee to Support Malawian Smallholders & Enable Education for Girls

In a collaboration between Scotland and Malawi, international best-selling author, Alexander McCall Smith, CBE is championing a new coffee, the sales of which will support small-holder farmers in Malawi and enable girls there to receive a secondary school education.

Scottish Government funds Development Education Centres

The Scottish Government has today announced £300,000 of funding for Scotland's six Development Education Centres to continue for another year, to March 2017. These six centres do a power of good supporting Scottish schools to teach topics around international development and good global citizenship.

University of Strathclyde ships support to Mzuzu

International Development Committee publishes report reviewing UK Development Spend

The International Development Committee released its interim report for this inquiry on the 22nd March, prior to the publication of the Bilateral Aid Review and the Multilateral Aid Review. The Scotland Malawi Partnership is directly quoted in this report and most of the above points from the SMP are taken forwards by the IDC in some way either as points of concern or direct recommendations.
