Malawi at COP26

Malawi at COP26

The Malawi at COP26 campaign aims to bring people who wish to be a part of Malawi's involvement at COP26 together.

Using the SMP Malawi at COP26 banner and #ClimateCrisisMalawi, we hope to create a network of individuals and organisations representing Malawi at COP26 and a strong dialogue around the climate issues facing the country.

2020 Year of Governance Strengthening

2020 Year of Governance Strengthening

Scotland and Malawi have a unique 160-year unique friendship that offers a strong platform for cooperation in the area of governance strengthening.

We are dedicating 2020 to strengthening governance within the SMP, its membership and in the wider context. We aim to create a safe, supportive and useful space to talk about  governance challenges, discuss our respective contexts in order to build mutual understanding, share experience, and explore further collaboration between our two nations.

Make Tax Fair

Make Tax Fair

The UK's tax treat with Malawi is outdated and unfair. Its time for Malawi to get a better deal.

The SMP are working with ActionAid to call for this colonial-era treaty to be completely renegotiated, to be made fairer for Malawi and fit for the 21st century.
