At this Renewables Forum, we heard from practitioners, academics, and community members who shared their experiences of how hydro powered homes, businesses, and social institutions. We also explored opportunities for collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange between Scotland and Malawi.
Water Power!
Hydroelectric power has played a pivotal role in enabling electricity access in both Scotland and Malawi. Whist large-scale hydro remains a vital national grid resource for ‘keeping the lights on’ in both countries, small-scale hydro schemes are underpinning community development in rural areas.
At this Renewables Forum, we heard from practitioners, academics, and community members who shared their experiences of how hydro powered homes, businesses, and social institutions. We also explored opportunities for collaboration, research, and knowledge exchange between Scotland and Malawi.
