Online screening at home - ‘The Ants and the Grasshopper’

Wed 22 September - Sun 26 September.

The Scotland Malawi Partnership is delighted to announce a partnership with ‘Take One Action’ film festival which will see the inspiring new feature-length documentary, ‘The Ants and the Grasshopper’, shown across Scotland this autumn in the run up to COP26. The film explores the real, human impact of climate change in Malawi and is being supported by the SMP as part of our ‘Malawi at COP26’ campaign, helping to raise awareness of the climate crisis and the need to listen to our friends in Malawi when Glasgow hosts COP26 in November.

‘The Ants and the Grasshopper’ (1h14m) is a moving new feature documentary by Raj Patel and Zak Piper in English and Tumbuka (subtitled).

Find out more information on our website here.

SMP members are invited to join the special public viewings sponsored by the Partnership. You can watch digitally by booking via the link on this page or join in-person at a cinema in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness. You only need to pay what you think you are able (max £10).

At present these online screenings are only available for those in the UK for licensing reasons beyond our control but we are actively working with the distributors to find ways those in Malawi can watch.
