Meet Malawian High Court Judges
All were very warmly invited to an online SMP meeting with three of Malawi’s High Court Judges. The distinguished members of the judiciary lead and are assigned to the Financial Crimes Division of Malawi’s High Court visited Police Scotland as part of a wide-ranging programme.
Speaking about their visit and areas of interest and expertise, we heard from:
The Honourable Justice Prof. Redson Edward Kapindu who is the Judge-in-Charge of the High Court of Malawi, Financial Crimes Division. He is one of the three pioneer Judges of the Financial Crimes Division.
The Honourable Lady Justice Anneline Kanthambi who after serving as Senior Resident Magistrate, Assistant Registrar and Deputy Chairperson of the Industrial Relations Court was appointed Judge of the High Court in October 2020.
The Honourable Lady Justice Violet Palikena Chipao who serves as Chairperson of the Judiciary Training Committee and was recently appointed by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Malawi as a member of the Judicial Service Commission.
John Anthony who serves as Anti-Corruption Component Lead at GIZ Malawi. He shared the role of GIZ in working with Police Scotland and Malawi High Court in dealing with financial crimes.
