Presiding Officer Ken Macintosh said the address was a symbol of the “deep and long-standing” friendship between the two nations.
First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon spoke highly of the links between Scotland and Malawi stating she looks forward to, “many more years of partnership and friendship.”
She went on to highlight that the relationship between Scotland and Malawi benefited both nations, mentioning Scottish students become global citizens from being involved in Scotland's friendship with Malawi.
The President said, "The Malawi Scotland partnership has become one of the strongest relationships in the world.”
This visit to Parliament marked the end of the President's four-day visit to Scotland.
