Glasgow Schools' Forum: Partnerships and Learning for Sustainability

Join teachers from the west of the country to discuss aspects of school partnerships and Learning for Sustainability.

The SMP kicked off the new school year with the first of two Schools’ Forums held at Knightswood Secondary School in Glasgow! The forum was a fantastic opportunity for education practitioners to come together to share and gather experience of working in school partnerships and Learning for Sustainability.

During the forum, we had some great discussion about organisations in the area that could offer support, and worked in groups to look at matters related to school partnerships such as the Sustainable Development Goals and Learning for Sustainability. We were pleased to welcome teachers from schools from the West of Scotland with a wealth and range of experience of school partnerships, from just starting out to years of working with partners in Malawi.

Craig Shields from Knightswood Secondary School chaired the forum and offered great insight into their school partnership including the highlights and challenges that they’ve faced.

We also heard from Diana Ellis from WOSDEC about the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme and how it can offer financial support to schools in partnerships as well as the CLPL opportunities on offer from the Development Education Centre in Glasgow.

We finished the forum by spending some time networking over Malawian drinks and snacks!
