Further & Higher Education Forum
Hosted by the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Cllr Jacqueline McLaren, and chaired by Dr Yonah Matemba of the University of the West of Scotland, the SMP’s Further & Higher Education Forum will be joined in-person by senior figures from three of Malawi’s public universities. We also very much hope that representatives from the other public universities will be able to contribute online, with the Malawian institutions sharing a brief sense of their priorities and key interests in collaboration with Scotland.
Participating in person will be:
- Prof. Address Malata, Vice-Chancellor of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST)
- Associate Prof. Nancy Chitera, Vice-Chancellor of the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS)
- Prof. Wapulumuka Mulwafu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Mzuzu University (MZUNI)
Participation from all FEHE institutions around Scotland and Malawi currently engaged in, or interested in exploring dignified bilateral links, is warmly welcome.
As guests of the City of Glasgow, the SMP is delighted that the Forum is again being hosted in Glasgow City Chambers. The SMP is also grateful to the University of Strathclyde who are kindly facilitating the in-person participation of the distinguished speakers visiting from Malawi as part of Strathclyde’s Jubilee Celebrations.
Waiting confirmation of attendance:
- Justice Thokozani Agnes Patemba, Malawi Deputy High Commissioner to the UK
Other agenda items to include:-
- The SMP’s new Malawian Scholars in Scotland (MSS) network initiative.
- FEHE Member and Institutional Updates
