SMP ANNOUNCES LARGEST EVER SEASON OF EVENTS
The Scotland Malawi Partnership is pleased to announce its most ambitious season of events to date. These events are free and open to anyone interested in joining the discussion or learning more.
Why not join us this autumn at our Global Community Links series through which we will assess what impact Scotland-Malawi links have had on the Millennium Development Goals and, specifically: the prevention and management of HIV and AIDS; agriculture, food security and water access; environmental sustainability; and gender equality and female empowerment.
SMP Annual General Meeting - ‘Malawi at a Crossroads: the role of partnership’
Saturday 3rd September, 09.30-14.30
Edinburgh City Chambers
In addition to the core AGM business and the election of Directors, this meeting for the members of the SMP will include open discussions around recent events in Malawi, looking at what the Partnership could and should be doing to support our friends in Malawi. All SMP members are welcome to stand for Directorships, full details to follow. Full papers etc will be made available online. Free and open to all SMP members. Email to book a place.
The Prevention and Management of HIV/AIDS in Scotland and Malawi

An SMP event, supported by Global Community Links, looking at the contribution Scotland-Malawi links have made to MDG1 – to end poverty and hunger. Free and open to ALL. With contributions from a variety of Scottish and Malawian organisations and individuals engaged in agriculture and water resource management, including Andrew Namakhoma of the National Smallholder Famers’ Association of Malawi (NASFAM). The Malawi Cross-Party Group (CPG) at the Scottish Parliament exists to provide an opportunity for Members of all parties, outside organisations and members of the public to meet and discuss Scotland’s relationship with Malawi. This meeting will ask what does the Scotland-Malawi relationship mean for Young Scots? To include a presentation from the Scottish Youth Parliament who have recently returned from Malawi. Environmental Sustainability in Scotland and Malawi: a community-based approach

This meeting will ask what role does the Malawian Diaspora community in Scotland have in the Scotland-Malawi bilateral relationship? To include input from the Malawian Diaspora community around Scotland. Email to book a place.
