Auld Alliance Cycle Ride
The Auld Alliance Cycle ride is on its fourth cycle to Paris, raising funds for Mamie Martin in Malawi.
The four day cycle is part of a week-long event leaving the Scottish Parliament on 31st August and, from Zeebrugge, cycling 250 miles over 4 days to Paris arriving on Saturday 4th September.
The event is organised by Prentice Events, a Scottish charity and this year you can follow the event on Google Earth and via the web cam. The Chief Executive of West Lothian Council is riding this year and the Council Education Department has produced Curriculum For Excellence modules around the event for all schools and colleges in West Lothian.
If you wish to take part this year or next please email Alan Prentice and, as in previous years, you might get a blue-light escort through Paris and tea and cakes at the British Embassy - as well as raising cash for Malawi.
Anyone can donate by going to the Prentice Events Website and follow the cyclists from 1st to 4th September.
