MALAWI NIGHT CHARITY EVENT 11 SEPTEMBER 2009:

TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE!

The Applied Educational Research Centre (AERC), University of Strathclyde, Jordanhill Campus cordially invites you to a Malawi Night Charity event, with all proceeds going to Namphungo Community Day Secondary School, Malawi. Your contributions will help build an office/library space for the teachers and students of the school, to replace the tree under which teaching preparation takes place.

Inspiration for this Charity event came from discussions we had with Symon Winiko about the teaching practices and conditions in Malawi. Symon arrived at our University from Malawi last August, to undertake a postgraduate course in the Department of Educational and Professional Studies, under the auspices of the Scotland Malawi Partnership.

Come and join us for a night of fun! Dance to familiar songs from the locally based band Ceilidh Experience and some new sounds from the Malawian band Moyenda. Bring your family and friends to a night full of excitement, with prize draws, tombola, good food, a pay bar, and other fun events.

Tickets are £10 each and are on sale now from John Smiths Bookshops (Jordanhill and John Anderson campus only). Alternatively, tickets can be purchased from University contacts detailed on the website below.
Further information can be found on the attached poster and by visiting http://www.bryanmansell.co.uk/MalawiCharity/
