Just Trading Scotland Rice Launch
The official Malawi Independence Day celebrations in Scotland took place on Saturday 9th of July in Glasgow.
We were proud to support SMP member, Just Trading Scotland (JTS), officially Launch of Kilombero Rice in Edinburgh on 19th January 2016.

The event featured a celebration of the warm heart of Africa, with engaging speeches covering topics such as Scotland’s relationship with Malawi and how Fair Trade can help both Malawi and Scotland reach the global goals.
There were complimentary drinks as well as food cooked by award winning Masterchef contestant Julie MacLeod as well as music and entertainment provided by a children’s African choir and Malawian musician Davie Luhanga.
The event marked 6 years of JTS's partnership and development work with smallholder rice farmers in Malawi, and the beginning of an exciting new chapter introducing Kilombero rice to consumers across the UK.
